Travelers visiting Mexico City now get free Medical Insurance.

Travelers who love to travel to Mexico City will definitely find this a good deal. Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard recently handed out insurance cards to tourists in the city.

The project aims to attract tourists back to the city. There was a slight decline in tourism in the country after travelers got scared of the swine flu.

Today if you book a flight to Mexico City, you will covered by free medical insurance during your stay in the city. The health insurance is provided via the Tourist Assistance Card which is given to visitors who show proof that they are staying in a hotel in Mexico City. The all-in-one Tourist Assistance Card provides health insurance covering a wide range of health concerns from minor accidents to hospitalization. The card also provides other assistance to tourists such as dental care, legal assistance in case of robberies, insurance against lost luggage and delayed or cancelled flights.

By offering extensive assistance to travelers, Mexico City hopes to revive the vibrant tourism industry in the city. Mexico City is Mexico’s capital city and is a top tourist destination worldwide.
