Travel Agents Association of India to Promote India’s Medical Tourism
The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) will hold its annual conference in Dubai this year. TAAI is the largest travel trade body in India. This year’s conference- The 58th Indian Travel Congress, which will be held from September 29 to October 2 will focus on India’s medical tourism industry. The event will be held at the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City.
The congress aims to attract more tourists from the Middle East and boost the tourism in India. The conference will also help attract visitors from India to Dubai. The conference will also feature an exhibition.
The conference will be attended by over 2000 delegates from different parts of the world. The tourism players from both India and the Emirate will be exchanging views and experiences in the conference. The conference will allow participants to have a better understanding of the Indian travel industry.
According to Rajinder Rai, president of the Travel Agents Association of India, the country has a very good potential of becoming a top medical tourism destination because of the scope of medical tourism in the country covering different states such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Before deciding on Dubai, the association was considering other destinations. Some of the destinations they were considering include: Korea and China. Local destinations like Mumbai were also previously being considered.
In Dubai, aside from the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City, the TAAI is also working closely with the following hotels: Monarch, Novotel, Movenpick and Crown Plaza. The TAAI also worked with the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
