According to a report published on the Star Tribune last week, most medical device companies funded free travel and lodging of military personnel from 1998 to 2007. The report was based on the study conducted by the Center for Public Integrity, an investigative Journalism group based in Washington DC.

An Indian twin conjoined at the skull will be operated on by world renowned neurosurgeon in Singapore. Dr. Keith Yu-Ching Goh will operate on twins Vani and Veena at the East Shore Hospital in the City-State in August this year.
The Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok Thailad is taking advantage of robotics to improve safety and efficiency in the hospital. According to Chang Foo, the Chief Technology Officer at the Bumrumgrad Hospital, technology and robotics have helped them eliminate errors in the hospital.

Gastric bypass works by decreasing the size of the stomach so that it cannot accommodate excessive food intake. The operation also allows food to by-pass part of the small intestine.
Steve Jobs, co-founder and CEO of Apple Inc., confirmed that he underwent liver transplant two months ago. Jobs who was said to be have recovered from pancreatic cancer a few years ago had to take a medical leave from the company last January because of some medical concerns.
